In the early ‘80s when Swapan Basu chanced upon the opportunity to make hand-painted accessories; he was quick to seek help from his best friend and wife, Roma. In 1984, Roma started designing hand-painted bags while developing the process and refining the method of painting over the years. Today it is a closely guarded family secret. Anuschka Bag - brilliant design and colorsBy V. Older
This is my second Anuschka bag. I love them both. I will travel with this bag. It is slender and with two zippered parts and inside zipper pocket and one open part I can travel with security. I love the little outside zippered slot for my iPhone.
For everyday I use a large tote to carry my bulkier items. I love having a light weight bag to take into a store. My shoulders and back appreciates it as well.
I have had many people comment on how beautiful the bag is and with the wealth of colors within the design I can carry it with virtually everything I wear.
These are so much more fun to own then my usual practical black or brown bags.
The quality is excellent. I'm a bit cavalier with my bags and these are holding up very well.

This is my first Anuschka bag. I love the beauty of the artwork. It definitely is unique and special. The antique Rose design suits me perfectly. I was afraid that I might not like because I am more of a classic styler, but this bag is wonderful. It has classic shape but is unique in both style and design. The size is perfect for everyday use. It holds my Kindle Fire, a large checkbook-wallet combo, my daily cosmetic essentials, and my glasses, keys, etc. The smaller outside pocket holds my cell phone in a convenient place and is easy to take the phone in and out. The larger outside pocket is large enough for tissue, or a small camera. I like the 3 section styling. In fact I haven't found anything I dislike about it. Good sturdy quality but supple and comfortable. Smells great. Love the smell of leather.
